Designing a festival identity that celebrates belonging

Manam Theatre Festival isn’t just a celebration of performance—it’s a space for dialogue, discovery, and connection. Anchored in the theme Together, We Belong, the 2024 edition invites people across ages, backgrounds, and disciplines to gather around stories that reflect the world as it is and as it could be. Across five weekends of plays, workshops, and conversations, the festival unfolds as a shared journey, where audiences and artists meet, listen, and create together.

The Brief

To design a cohesive identity for the second edition of Manam that captures the inclusive ethos of Together, We Belong, builds on last year’s visual memory, and creates tools for communication across digital, print, spatial, and social touchpoints.

The Challenge

To craft a visual identity that honours the plurality of theatre today, without reducing it to a single tone or style. The challenge was to create a system that could hold space for difference—adapting fluidly across formats, moods, and audiences, while remaining recognisable and rooted in the festival’s values.
